Open

When I first went back in to the office at the end of July, the University still had limited entrances and was recording everyone who came in. If you wanted to go outside, you had to plan carefully to make sure you didn't get locked out. Those restrictions eased off in August, but even now, in the midst of the fall semester, there is almost no one in the hallways or common rooms. It feels as deserted as it does during reading week. It is open, but it really doesn't feel like it. Not everyone likes the crowds of students, but without that, I might as well be at home. (They had promised a work from home policy this fall, but now they want to wait until next semester when things are more normal before coming up with something.)
