Uh-oh
While walking around the lake last fall, as I was approaching the bridge near Trafalgar overlook, I saw something approaching me from the bridge. My thought process went something like
"What's a cat doing way over here?"
"There's something strange about that cat."
"Oh! That's a raccoon!"
(I have this same reaction every time I see a raccoon walking around. Maybe if I saw more raccoons, they'd stop looking like weird cats.)
I stopped walking and waited to see what would happen.
The raccoon seemed to be thinking the same thing. He stopped on the bridge and looked at me for a while and then walked forward a few steps and stopped again. Before finally deciding that he didn't want anything to do with me and darted off the path and into the bushes.
(I didn't get a picture of that raccoon. This one is from September of 2018 and a different part of the park.)
