Flame

Back in 2016, work sent me to a conference in Las Vegas at the end of August. The conference was what I'd expect from a tech conference - informative if a bit sales oriented, plenty of free vendor stuff, lots of free food, and attended almost entirely by men. Vegas was also more or less what I expected - over the top, artificial, relentless. It wasn't all terrible though. I got to see Penn and Teller and Cirque du Soleil, eat at Nobu, and play pinball at the Pinball Hall of Fame. But I think my favourite thing was the flame shooting preying mantis sculpture on Freemont Street.
