Other side
When I (and probably most people) think of New York, I generally think of Downtown and Midtown Manhattan - tall buildings and crowded sidewalks.
But there's a host of other neighbourhoods that are different. Yesterday I went exploring in the Bronx. Not enough to really get a feel for the place as I was mostly at the New York Botanical Garden, but enough to see some differences. The streets are wider and there are more residential buildings so store fronts are limited to certain areas (past experience suggests they will mostly be near subway stops or major roadways.) Also, while Manhattan is mostly flat, the Bronx has hills. It's delightful and I'll need to go back and explore some more sometime.
