Exploring
A lot of the wedding guests were leaving, so yesterday was a day of goodbyes and also a chance to venture away from the resort after essentially being stuck here for a couple of days.
I headed back to D'Mall with a few people and after lunch, we walked about a bit, but they were mostly done and I wanted to walk more, so they left early and I went to see what I could find. I knew there was a place called "The Tart Shop" that I wanted to find. I knew it wasn't on the beach, but that there was a path from the beach to it and somehow managed to find it without really trying. I ended up having a mango and calamansi tart which was nice. The trip back to the shuttle pick up location took longer than I expected though, so I ended up missing that shuttle and having a couple of hours to wait. So, I sat, watched the sun set and then decided to walk up the beach and see if there was anything interesting beyond where I had gone before.
Away from D'Mall, the beach gets less busy, but it is basically hotels and restaurants all the way along it. I decided to walk to the far end and then I noticed that there was a path at the base of the cliff. It led to a boat jetty but it continued beyond that around the rock outcropping to ... I'm not really sure. The path beyond the jetty was small and it was getting quite dark and I was feeling unsure of my footing, so I turned back. The people who live in the area walked through that area with great ease though.
Instead, I headed back to the shuttle pickup area (buying a sweet but cheesy bun and an odd crumby cookie from a place nearby first) and went back to the resort. Just one more full day here and then back to Manila and then home.
