Two ends and a start

I deleted my accounts on the dating apps. I was only on them for about three weeks. While I liked the way Hinge worked more than the others, it was also the least successful with no messages at all. It was as if the accounts I was seeing there were abandoned. I think I had only one conversation on Bumble and matched I think three people. Tinder was the busiest but also the one with the most fake profiles/scams. It was also the one that triggered the end. Unlike the other two, Tinder shows you people you've seen before again later, seemingly one week later. When I saw the same people for the third time, I got annoyed and knew I'd had enough.

I got my first dose of the vaccine. It took about two and a half hours from leaving my house until I got back home. Sitting in a line of cars for that long gave me a bit of a headache and I probably should have packed a snack or at least a drink, but the only actual side effect I had from the shot was a sore arm for a couple of days. It's definitely a bit of a relief even though the real end still feels a long way away. I wonder what that will look like and what changes I'll take forward. About the only thing I feel confident saying is that I will likely have to go back to the office and I won't enjoy it.

I also got a new job. It's only part time and currently temporary, but the Farmers' Market was looking for a supervisor and they were pretty insistent that I should apply. The goal of creating the position was to allow the two main people to actually take time off and to have a third person who can run the show if they are unavailable. Technically, I'm sharing the duties with another person as they needed someone who could work Wednesdays and Saturdays. I could do the Saturdays but not the Wednesdays and the person I'm sharing with could do the Wednesdays but really didn't want to work Saturdays. It seems a bit mad to be doing two jobs especially when I don't need the money, but so far I've been excited to do it and I like the organization and the people I'm working with. I can't remember the last time I was excited about the University job.
